Xiao Su, an assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, led a team of researchers that have developed an energy-efficient device that selectively absorbs a highly toxic form of arsenic in water and converts it into a far less toxic form.

Zeynep Madak-Erdogan, Beckman affiliate faculty member and an assistant professor of food science and human nutrition, collaborated with a professor through the Birmingham-Illinois Partnership for Discovery, Engagement and Education Program.
